Collection of birds

I've been collecting bird pictures for almost two years now. I think my wall is finally finished! If I don't stumble over any amazing picture to replace something with, I'm done. First it was supposed to be only paper pictures, but then I came across some ceramic tablets that I just had to add. And in the middle of all I have a picture of walruses and seals, but it fits so good in a way that I don't want to remove it... I was also thinking about adding embroidered pictures, but it became to messy. It would be lovely though to have a wall with only embroidered pictures, maybe of landscapes, but that is another project...

Retro rattan!

Lately I've been longing for rattan furniture... I would like to have an old rattan rocking chair and sit on a porch with a glass of wine, maybe with one of those rattan bar carts beside me! When we went to my boyfriends country house the other weekend, I suddenly looked upon his parents old rattan sofas with new eyes and thought to my self; hmm, these would be quite nice sprayed painted in a strong color or with some colorful cushions...

Sunday inspiration; Mister Finch!

Yesterday I found the British textile artist Mister Finch, and it's an understatement that I got amazed! The guy is apparently self taught and mostly uses recycled materials. I think his work has that special combo of mystery and melancholy that I just love! This is how he describes his own work:
"My main inspiration come from nature and often I return to certain ideas again and again. Flowers, insects and birds really fascinate me with their amazing life cycles and extraordinary nests and behaviour. Shape shifting witches, moon gazing hares and a smartly dressed devil ready to invite you to stray from the path. The Bloomsbury Group

Ever since I lived in London a few years back I've been very fascinated by old british culture, interior and art. I have to admit I basically have a weakness for old british things and love the british interior style, especially the old cottage and mansion style and because of this I tend to search specifically for british interior inspiration. Today I read about the Bloomsbury group, a group of artists, authors and philosophers who worked and studied together in the Bloomsbury neighborhood of London during the first half of the 20th century. Two of the members, Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant were both artists and lived together and see such a lovely and inspirational home they had.
