Nathalie Choux

I found a new ceramist I love; Nathalie Choux! I don't know more about her than that she is a French illustrator and ceramist that does the most amazing fantasy figures! I have not figured out where and if you can buy her work, so if any one knows, please tell me!

Autumn outside; let's spend the weekend on a day bed!

It's gray and raining outside and the only thing I want to do is to curl up on my sofa with a blanket and a book or a magazine. If I had the space I would definitively get a day bed or a chaise lounge, just a quiet corner where you can lay and think, make plans and get inspired. When I was younger my sister used to laugh at me because I was always laying down in a half sitting position, either in bed or on the sofa, just doing nothing. She used to ask me; what are you doing? Thinking, I said. I loved it, I could do it for hours. Nowadays it's hard to not pick up my iphone, flicking through pictures at Pinterest, but I still like to just sit and think in my own world...

Sunday inspiration; Kevin Sloan

I found a new artist today on Pinterest. His name is Kevin Sloan and he makes paintings inspired by natural history art and the sense of wonder and curiosity found in the old Cabinets of Curiosities. He says that our natural world today is increasingly threatened, making it once again rare and exotic. His work is often filled with questions and through allegory and symbolism he expresses his concern about the relationship between the modern world and nature and it's inhabitants. His original paintings cost a lot, but you can buy prints for around 100 USD online!

Dogs and interior!

I love dogs! A while ago I loved cats...but you've seen so many cats in prints, on cushions and on t-shirts so I've started to get bored of it. Now I want dogs instead. I would actually want a real dog, a black poodle, but for the meantime I've decided to start to collect porcelain poodles! I bought a pair of nice Beswick dogs the other day, but now I think I want a real antique pair instead, that seems more authentic. It would also be nice to have a small collection of old dog paintings or maybe an embroidered cushion...
